Redirect Loop when activating plugin

Having some trouble activating the plugin on my site. It works and functions perfectly on my WP Engine staging site but as soon as we set it live the plugin causes a redirect loop and prevents the admin area working at all.

Now, I know my PHP version is below the required but this works in exactly the same environment on my staging server.
