publish still in quick edit

    Hi

    when I create a simple workflow “Assignment/Publish”, users of the assignment role get the “submit to workflow” button instead of the “publish” button when editing or creating a post

    so far so good, but when the assignment users go to the list of posts in the backend, they can still publish a post via quickedit

    is this expected behavior?

    Hi @wwwoz,

    It looks like, the capabilities for the given role are wide open. The role probably has “publish posts”, “publish pages”, “edit published posts”, “edit published pages” capability. Once you remove the above capabilities using User Role Editor or a similar plugin, the user/role will not be able to publish the post directly using quick edit.
