Hi,
What are the steps that you have done up to the point before adding the map?
Have you added a location via the profile “location” tab?
What version of wordpress and buddypress are you using?
and no, there is no way to tag places using this map. this map just shows the location of the user being viewed.
I used the setting page in the admin and clicked on various options needed (simple) locations is a required profile field on my site in order to sign up, so yes it was already in place. Using BP 1.7 and wp 3.5.1
HI,
Apology for the delay. Are you still having this issue?
Good Day,
Yes this problem still persist but I had to deactivate it because when you place the snippet member-header users cannot edit profile section. My question is can users do geo-tagging for places traveled? But would love to get this working. Thx for response!
Hi,
Right now users cannot tag a place but add their “permanent” location. I have a checkins add-on under development but will be ready later.
For now you can try the the Beta version of the coming update. that should solve the issue of the location tab not showing.
Ok great and thanks for the info…will check it out!
Just wish it was a plugin that members could tab as well there permanant location. At the moment nothing accomplishes this for buddypress I would pay in a heartbeat. but yeah buddypress map plugins need more attention. Thanks again!
Hi,
this is a great checkins plugin for buddypress. Will let you do what you are looking for.
BTW,
did the beta version work for you?
Testing now actually this is mush better…the search option looks cleaner and the locations function is very accurate. On the backend under post type map icons the categories before the + symbol does not allow to expand it did yesterday as I could see the different markers but today not expanding. Also the per post map icon and per category map icon is not responding when I click on the radio buttons so they remain unchecked How can I use the checkins feature? And can you have a map that displays checkins activity. Oh it would be cool if you can search for members by state or region without the miles limitation. But I see the improvement! Thx
