Problems on Android phone
-
The plugin works when I tested it on Apple devices and different computers but when I tried to test it on Android phone it kept giving me a message that said ‘something is wrong with the email’ and so it wouldn’t reserve the appointment.

Hey there fourwhitesocks,
How are you doing today?
I’ve tested the plugin on my sandbox site using my android device and I couldn’t replicate the issue you’re having.
Can you please let me know if you’re using login required option from Appointments -> Settings -> General -> Accessibility Settings -> Login Required?
If not would you mind posting link to your site to make an appointment page so I can take a look?
Best regards,
BojanThank you for the help!! I really want to use your plugin but need it to work on Android also. Later after I posted that I tested it on a second Android phone and got the same exact message.
I am NOT requiring Login Required
This is just a testing page so just FYI…here’s the link:
Strange!! Just now I noticed that the plugin must have also auto-generated a page also which contains the appt calendar? I never noticed that auto-generated page yesterday….it did have the app_login shortcode on THAT page I wonder if that made a difference… I have removed that shortcode but I’m not requiring Login and it’s marked as NO in the Login Required box.
Here’s the link of the auto-generated page that I didn’t know about till now: Auto-generated page
THANK YOU AHEAD OF TIME!!!
Hey again fourwhitesocks,
Thanks for the link, I’ve tested this on your “Requests” page and I managed to make an appointment without any issues from my android, see screenshot
http://screencast.com/t/9cyZVYGyoaR.Where exactly are you seeing this error and in which step?
Also you can create page with auto generated shortcodes by going to Appointments -> Settings -> General -> Display Settings -> Create an Appointment page http://screencast.com/t/3yvkkCaSztoL.
You can also find more info about shortcodes and available attributes in Appointments -> Shortcodes in case you want to customize your calendar.
Best regards,
BojanI’m having a friend try it again not too so, well I’m glad it worked for you for me it has failed on 3 Andorid phones.
Also strange……
Settings -> General -> Display Settings -> Create an Appointment page….this box is not checked and was never checked lol….not a huge deal but kinda weird!

This is normal behavior, and also exactly why I posted screenshot with explanation above, sorry if I wasn’t clear enough. The reason why it’s always unchecked is because you can create as many pages as you want, so once you check the box and hit save, page is created. When you visit the settings page again the same box is unchecked so you can create another page if that makes sense.

That’s really odd, can you see appointments I made from my phone? You should be able to see them in Appointments -> Appointments, check in active or pending appointments depending on the confirmation settings.
Also what exactly are you adding into email field? Also when does this happen? When you click on the confirm your appointment button?
Please advise,
BojanOh no problem on the auto-generated page thing, was just surprised when I realized that it had already made a page with the box unchecked, not worried about that.
I do see the appointments make from your phone. I do not see the one’s that I tried or that my friend tried this morning.
I was adding my exact correct email address when I tried it and my friend was using her complete email address, it happens when you click on the Confirm Appointment Button….
Hey again fourwhitesocks,
I’m not being able to access your site at the moment, it appears to be down.
Can you please let me know when it’s up again so I can test using another android device or different browser to see if that will make a difference.
Best regards,
BojanUmmm humm it’s not down…here’s link again:
My friend just reported back that she tried it again and is getting the same error message… š
Hey again,
I tested on default android browser as well as chrome, and also used two different android phones (HTC Desire and LG Nexus 5) and each time I managed to make an appointment without any issues.
I also tried both top and bottom calendar on “request” page and had same results each time, http://screencast.com/t/G2A0wT7H.
Which device and browser are you using, does this happen when you’re logged in or not. Do you add info into all fields?
Please advise,
BojanI will find out which exact Android phones and browsers used and post back THANK YOU!!
Hey fourwhitesocks,
Please let me know about the additional info so we can try to figure this one out š
Have a nice weekend!
Cheers,
BojanOk will do, but I can tell you that for sure I was probably logged in when they all tried it. I’m trying to gather all the info now, waiting for responses š
Here are the phones that received the error message / wouldn’t let them make appt:
Samsung s6 with Chrome
Samsung Galaxy s3 with Chrome
All fields were filled out
I was probably logged in at the time…
I don’t have info on the third Android phone that it didn’t work on…yet
Here is a link to screenshots of the error message on the S6
