Problem with youtube thumbnails

Hi,

I have a problem with the download of youtube thumbnails.

When i try to make a post with youtube video, the automatic download of thumbnail don’t work (version 2.7.2).

In editor, if i try the option Search Again in Video thumbnail box, shows: No video thumbnail for this post.

But if i go to Settings -> Video Thumbnails Options -> Debugging:

In test markup for video the thumbnails appears and show this:

✔ Thumbnail found! Image should appear below. View full size

And if i try Test Saving to Media Library, show this:

✔ Attachment created with an ID of 117441

✔ Attachment with an ID of 117441 deleted

Who is the problem? Thanks!

Are you using the video in a custom field or the normal edit box?

Can you share the exact embed code you’re using? Have you tested with a video from Vimeo?

Happens with all embeds from youtube (in this blog and another blogs hosted in the same server):

<iframe src=”http://www.youtube.com/embed/kBzHEF0SjlQ?rel=0″ height=”360″ width=”640″ allowfullscreen=”” frameborder=”0″></iframe>

I don’t tried vimeo videos 🙁

Testing with Vimeo will help me narrow down if the issue is specific to YouTube or with the server in general.

I’m also working on an update that includes a new image download test that might help diagnose the problem.

Version 2.7.3 is now available and the image download test has been updated. You can now download a test image and inspect it to make sure that the file actually exists before deleting it.

Haven’t discovered the issue yet, but I’ve released an update that should make the tests more accurate. I tried updating it on your site to do more testing, but was unable to.

After the latest update the tests are now failing, which tells me that one of the other plugins or the theme is probably causing a conflict. Can you try switching themes and running the test?

The plugin is working ok the last months, and i haven’t added new plugins to the blogs, only upgraded all plugins, including video-thumbnails plugin.

How exactly should I test the plugin with the change of theme? Thanks
