Hi!
Yes, the product data should be configured as accurately as possible.
UPS Live Rates can show services only when UPS makes them available for the sender’s and recipient’s addresses, as well as the order weight and other shipment details. You should create a shipping zone that includes Canada and test the available UPS services for a Canadian address.
The UPS account must be registered in the same country as the store. The plugin will display only services available for the selected origin and destination. Therefore, the exact Canadian services depend on the store’s origin, the UPS account, and the destination address.
- Weight: The plugin uses the total weight of the products to request UPS rates. If a product has no weight, the configured default weight can be used instead. Missing or incorrect weight may cause services not to appear.
- Product dimensions: These are important when using advanced packing options, especially Pack items separately or Pack into custom boxes.
- Package dimensions: You do not need to know the exact dimensions of every possible combined shipment in advance. You can configure the actual boxes used by the store under Pack into custom boxes. The plugin can then match the products to the available boxes and calculate whether one or multiple packages are required.
The available packing methods are:
- Pack into one box by weight – all products are treated as one package.
- Pack items separately – each product is treated as a separate package.
- Pack into custom boxes – you define the boxes used by the store, including their dimensions, maximum weight, box weight, and padding.
If the order cannot fit into one box, the packing algorithm can create multiple packages. For example, it may calculate two packages when the products cannot fit together in one configured box. The result depends on the product dimensions and the boxes configured in the plugin.
Please see the UPS Live Rates shipping method configuration.
About UPS Access Points:
In the UPS Live Rates method settings, you can choose:
- Disable Access Points
- All services and Access Points
- Only Access Points
- Access Points and Flat Rate
The list of available collection points depends on the selected destination and the UPS API response. More information is available in the Access Points section of the UPS configuration guide.UPS credentials and the missing Access Key. An Access Key is not required when using the recommended REST API with Client Credentials connection.
UPS Live Rates only calculates and displays shipping rates. It does not create shipments or print labels. Labels require the separate UPS Shipping Labels and Tracking plugin.
