Posts are expiring before scheduled date

Hi,

I’m using Post Expirator to expire a custom post type (training) when the event is past. I have manually set the posts to expire by returning to draft on the day after the event. I have checked the cron, and diagnostics, when I can see them scheduled to expire at the right time. The posts all then get expired and returned to draft in the next 24 hours. This has happened twice.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

If I’m following you correctly, the cron jobs are created correctly, but don’t run?

No, the cron jobs are set correctly – you can see them in diagnostics and by enabling debug but then within a few hours the plugin expires all the posts which have an expiration date set ahead of time – so it expired all of Septembers training posts and I’ve had to manually publish them again.

That’s not a bug we’ve had reported before. It may be connected to using a custom post type.

How was this custom post type created?

The CPT is programmatically created using extend-cpts mu-plugin (https://github.com/johnbillion/extended-cpts)

Our support here on the WordPress forums doesn’t stretch to tracking down compatibility issues like this.

I’d suggest doing some debugging. For example, does this work on normal post types on your site? Does it help if you change any settings on your custom post type? You can file a bug report here: https://github.com/publishpress/PublishPress-Future/issues
