This makes me so happy I may start using your plugin again:

    4.2.1

    Release date: August 17th, 2016
    Bug Fixes:

We fixed a conflict between Jetpack and W3 Total Cache.

Is this the issue that is a couple years old and pretty much rendered W3TC useless/helpless?

No, this is a brand new issue, that appeared when we released Jetpack 4.2 last week. In some situations, it was preventing site owners from accessing their dashboard.

Could you give me more details about that old issue you had in mind? Jetpack should be compatible with W3 Total Cache. I know of one conflict that does come up sometimes, when W3 Total Cache is set to minify all JavaScript resources. It does create JavaScript errors with some Jetpack resources. Is that what you had in mind? If so, playing with the minification options usually does the trick.
