Done. The error in the file compression has been corrected.
I had great difficulty in understanding of “subversion” that can offer file downloads with WordPress.
So I made many mistakes, but now after hours of effort, I understood how it works.
It is easier to write a plugin to offer download on WordPress! And this is amazing!
Sorry for all my beginner errors !
I would like to try this plugin but I am still getting “plugin has no valid header” error.
I have tried to install it straight from my plugins page in WordPress, and I have downloaded it from the WordPress.org plugin page and uploaded it directly.
Both fail.
I dont understand why u have these error, may be u dont unzip the file ?
U need to unzip and to add unzipped file in wp-content/plugins/statpress-visitors folder.
Then you have 1 file wp-content/plugins/statpress-visitors/statpress.php and 1 folder wp-content/plugins/statpress-visitors/def in wp-content/plugins/statpress-visitors folder.
When i download it in my home from WordPress it work !
@luciole135 Ok, I did as you instructed, I created a “statpress-visitors” folder in my plugins folder. Then I downloaded the plugin and unzipped it… then I uploaded the individual components of the plugin to my statpress-visitors folder and it worked.
However it has been my experience that most plugins are not installed in this fashion.
All previous plugins I have installed do not have to be unzipped before you upload them.
I will monitor this plugin for a few days and let you know how it performs on my blog, thanks for your efforts in creating this plugin.
the use of this repository file system is very complicated to understand, I work for 3 days and every time I think I understand, it’s not good !
It is much easier to write a plugin than use the repository system !
If someone can explain how the file repository, it would be very nice!
i think now i understand how work the file repository !
