Plugin produces Warning about deprecated feature

    Not critical, but annoying with the Fatal Error Notify plugin.

    Happened after updating PHP from 7.x to 8.4.

    Otherwise very happy with this plugin, thank you!

    Error Level: E_DEPRECATED

    Message: voku\helper\UTF8::reduce_string_array(): Implicitly marking parameter $remove_short_values as nullable is deprecated, the explicit nullable type must be used instead

    Hi @marsu79 again,

    I’ve just committed the patch for this; the version is v2.2.1. Please be so kind and confirm that this fixes the issue on your side.

    If you have 5 more minutes to spare, I’d be grateful if you could test the newest release of the plugin, which is a major overhaul: v3.0.0. You can download the developer version (with dozens of files that won’t be in the final release) by clicking here.

    Again, I’d be super grateful if you could test the newest release of the plugin so I can move forward and release it without fear of breaking anything.

    Hi, the bug is definitely resolved.

    I can’t really test a new release that easy, as I don’t have a test environment to do so, and am hesitant to test in the production environment.

    I now, kinda negligent, but the site is only a small portion of my job.

    Hi @marsu79,

    I’m glad the bug is fixed.
    I completely understand if you can’t test the new version. I had hoped you’d have a small blog or something that doesn’t use the plugin (so there’s 100% avoidance of data overrides).

    Thanks anyway for responding. I’ll try to find others who’d like to test it.

    What you could do, though, is leave feedback here. Reviews are kind of the currency here when developing a WordPress plugin, and good ones are always a big motivator to keep maintaining a plugin that’s over 10 years old.

    If you’re too busy for that, no hard feelings, of course. Please keep opening support threads if you encounter any issues with one of my plugins – that’s the fastest way for me to fix them.
