Plugin not automatically adding galleries to posts

    The last few days I have no longer been able to have galleries automatically added to my posts when I hit the button to insert it. Instead, I now have to copy each short code over. Is there a reason this would stop working? I am currently using the Classic Editor.

    @sayontan Crissy put it in a staging site and disabled every plugin and the insert gallery button still doesn’t work

    OK – in that case, I am sorry and cannot offer you an alternative. I could suggest downgrading to an older version of the plugin (3.23), but the changes to WP 7.0 and future versions might prevent that from working.

    There are legacy ways of using the plugin, but they are more painful. E.g., you could pull up the list of your album ids from your admin dashboard under Photonic → Helpers, and manually construct a shortcode in this format:

    [gallery type='smugmug' view='images' album='abcdef']

    This takes the gallery wizard out of the workflow, but will work without issue.

    If this is not acceptable, your only alternative is to look for another plugin.
