This plugin works great. I’ve used it in tons of places on a site I am developing to display content that isn’t ‘bloggy’, but still time sensitive (frequently updated). However, now I would like to use it to produce posts on a news page that is more blog-like, with a date/time stamp, author, etc.
I tried setting up the ‘News’ page as the default posts page in the readings settings, but doing that bypasses the custom page template I have set up for that page. So I reset the Posts Page setting to nothing, and created a ‘News’ custom post type, with the page template for the News page coded to query only News posts. But it seems like the posts created with these post type don’t include the standard post information that you would want to see in a blog-like post (date, time, author, etc). What is the best way to go about restoring these options to a custom post? I’d like to avoid custom fields if at all possible.
