You’re using WordPress 5.8.1, which is compatible up to PHP 8.
So, unless it’s a specific plugin or theme, or some other site under your hosting, you should have no trouble.
If it is a specific plugin or theme, I recommend taking the time now to find alternatives.
I also recommend asking your hosting provider for specifics on what they reported.
I have contacted my hosting, but they’ve confirmed there are some files, plugins that need to be upgraded. They have not told me which specific file should be. Is there any chance to find the specific plugin or theme causing the incomparable within PHP upgrade? Thanks!
I have tried this plugin but it takes too long to scan and has not completed yet. Is there another way to check? Thanks!
Besides just upgrading PHP and seeing what happens, that’s the only automated one I know of.
You could also check each plugin and theme’s entry on the directories here. The minimum PHP version will be listed in the sidebar.
@macmanx where can I check the minimum PHP version for each plugin and theme?
In the right sidebar of the directory entries here.
For example, Jetpack is listed as PHP 5.6 and higher: https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/
And, Twenty Twenty-One is listed as PHP 5.6 and higher: https://wordpress.org/themes/twentytwentyone/
