Paid Memberships With Responsive Theme

I am having trouble installing my SSL on my PMP plugin. My SSL is with Go Daddy so I am given a script to apply the code. I cannot apply it in the HTML ssl code section provided by PMP. PMP gives instructions on adding the code to the functions.php file in the css. However, Cyber Chimps, the creators of the REsponsive theme I am using has instructions to not edit the functions.php code.

I do know some php but I’m also leary about messing with someone else’s code that they have established.

How can I solve this issue?
