    Hello,

I’m using the jetpack/related-posts block inserted directly into the single post template via the Site Editor (FSE) on a WordPress.com plugin-enabled site (theme: Ollie, Gutenberg editor).

Issue: The current post occasionally appears among its own related posts suggestions. The block is in fully automatic mode — no manually pinned posts, no custom exclusion metadata.

I understand the current post should be excluded automatically, and this works correctly when the block is placed inside post content. However, when placed in an FSE template, the exclusion does not apply reliably, likely because the block renders outside the main WordPress loop and cannot access the current post ID at that point.

    Example URL: https://sensitif.org/nicholas-hoult-portrait-biographie/

Could you confirm whether this is a known issue with the FSE template context, and whether a fix is planned?

    Thank you.

    Hi @philoupescalier8

I did some investigation here and the suggestions on your site aren’t coming from the Jetpack Related Posts block. Instead, they seem to be something coming from the Ollie theme:

    SCR 20260817 kxss

You can see that for a Jetpack Related Posts block (example from my test site), the HTML is different:

    SCR 20260817 kwtl

I’d recommend reaching out to the folks who develop the Ollie theme for assistance with this issue.

I’m going to mark this thread as resolved for now. If you have questions about Jetpack in the future, feel free to open a new thread.
