Page is not updating

    Hello!

    Issue: I want to update one of the pages on the site – just add another hyperlink. I enter hyperlink into page editor (using the Simple File Downloader plugin) and click update button at upper right. I review updated page to find no changes. I have tried another computer as well.

    Background: I am admittedly very new to WP – so I imagine it is something simple and silly that I am missing. I have checked other posts but I cannot find the solution, so here I am. I have also cleared caches on browser, as well as WP 3 cache plugins.

    Other testing: I have also tried just placing just text through the classic editor and the new block editor, but to no avail.

    I can provide more information if needed – but as I am new to this I am unsure of what else to add.

    From what I see that plugin will generate a shortcode for you to embed in the page or post. You’d then switch to text mode with the Classic Editor to embed that shortcode.

    So when you add the link to the plugin’s form it provides a code but doesn’t add it to any certain file (from what I can see).

    You probably should try to reach out to the author or review the plugin’s documentation. The plugin hasn’t been updated in three years which probably doesn’t mean anything operationally but usually is a warning to ‘reduce expectations’.

    Thank you for the prompt reply. I will examine the plugin more closely.
    Though I already input shortcode that it generated – following the syntax of previous entries. I’m hoping it’s just that plugin, but I have doubts. When I try a simple text block and update the page, the change is not reflected on the site either.

    And yes, over time I hope to change everything about this site. Meaning the comedic irony of the Ultimatum template will most likely be gone, sad days…
