Only Works in Preview?

    I downloaded the plugin and began to use it for the post list shortcode and all appeared well while testing it on the page and previewing, but as soon as I publish the page the page will not load. It usually times out or gives me an error screen. Do I have any options?

    through testing i have realized that it is
    <div class="su-post-excerpt"> <?php the_excerpt(); ?> </div>
    in the default-loop.php which seems to be breaking the loop and my page. I use excerpts in my other previews, so I wonder why it breaks it here?
