• It does show a gallery of images. But I had a few issues:
    * I need to have each image clickable to direct to that image’s own page. Could not figure out how – there seems to be no way to add a url or make thumbnails link to anything else.
    * It leaves a lot of things behind after uninstalling. Not cool.
    * I added a bit of text in the Alt & Title Text box so as to have a method of sorting the gallery thumbnails. But there was no way to keep this text from being displayed.

And overall I found the Gallery display disappointingly un-customizable. Colors, borders, caption size, title location, etc.

Here are the orphaned folders left behind after uninstalling:

    Public_html / gallery
    Public_html / ngg
    Public_html / ngg styles

    Hi @bobthearch!

Thank you for your feedback. I’d like to reply to each of the points you’ve made in your review…

    * I need to have each image clickable to direct to that image’s own page. Could not figure out how – there seems to be no way to add a url or make thumbnails link to anything else. — We do have an option to link a thumbnail to a page through our albums (follow this help guide to learn how).

    * It leaves a lot of things behind after uninstalling. Not cool. — This is important for security reasons. Sometimes users will uninstall and reinstall the plugin to troubleshoot an error on their site, rollback to an earlier version of the plugin, or install a beta version of the plugin. Sometimes users will want to remove the plugin to try another gallery plugin and reinstall the plugin again to return back to NextGEN Gallery. If all data were deleted after uninstalling the plugin you would lose all of your galleries. You can always remove the data files manually on your server.

    * I added a bit of text in the Alt & Title Text box so as to have a method of sorting the gallery thumbnails. But there was no way to keep this text from being displayed. — The purpose of an alt tag is to provide text for visitors who are visually impaired and those who use screen readers. These alt tags will only display when a visitor hovers the cursor over a thumbnail.

And overall I found the Gallery display disappointingly un-customizable. Colors, borders, caption size, title location, etc. — We have several customization settings… I’m wondering if you missed the settings under the ‘customize display settings’ in the Add Gallery window? Which gallery display were you trying to customize?

    Thanks!
