    Hi there,
I’ve just installed bestazon, but it doesn’t seem to be redirecting from uk to the usa, with using a vpn to test it, however if i just put the link from the amazon uk site without using pretty links it seems to work ok and direct me to us store.

is there something i need to do to use it with pretty links?

    cheers

    Hi Carpty,

    THanks for using the plugin.

Yes, the plugin is compatible with pretty links, but there is an additional step involved. The plugin needs to know which inks on your site are Amazon links. In the plugin settings, you will see an option to specify the keyword that any URL on your page needs to have in order for it to be localized.

For example, if your pretty link is structured as http://yourdmain.com/amazon/itemxyz, you can enter /amazon/ as the text against the option “Enter the slug for additional links that should be localized “. Once you do that, the plugin will know that any URL containing the text /amazon/ needs to be localized. Note that you can choose any word as your slug instead of /amazon/ – e.g. /buy/, /click/, /goto/ etc. The point is that you need to tell plugin which links are cloaked links for amazon.

Please try it and let me know if you need any further assistance.

Oh i see. the only problem is they ain’t all the same, i’ve put the product name on some and other words on others. so does that mean i need to make them all the same in pretty links?

edited to add. i reread what you put, and i should be ok as they all start with amazon, so would only need to put that in as the slug!

    thanks.
