No way to remove slug

Hi, I have an issue: I am encountering an issue of having no way to remove the “home” extension from the slug of the homepage, so in this case instead of being https://www.domainname.com/, it shows https://www.domainname.com/home and when I try to delete this slug “home” it reappears. Setting in wordpress are ok! Could you please tell me a way to solve?
