Hi, I noticed that inside Jetpack is a plugin which allows us to hide/show widgets where we want. I also can see there the same option for authors. Now i can see that i can set one widget to be shown “if author” or hide “if author”.

What i want to know is there an option and how, like this.

Show widget as usually but if it’s a post of author let’s call him X, then show widget only with his code.

What i want to do is, if post isnt from author x show site ads, if post is from author X then show only his ads inside text widget.

Is this possible, and if yes, how ?

    Thanks

You won’t be able to change the contents inside a widget thanks to the Widget Visibility module. You could, however, try the following:

    1. Create 2 Text Widgets: one with the ad code for everyone, and another with the ad code only for that author
    2. Change visibility rules for the 2 widgets:
    • For the first widget, choose “Hide if Author is x”
    • For the second widget, choose “Show is Author is x”

By doing so, you’ll display a different widget (and thus a different ad code) just for that author.

    I hope this helps.

Yea it does, but there isnt option only for single post. There is option only for the page. Does page here means single post also ?

Because on this way i am not sure what would be shown on the homepage..

If you want to display or hide a widget on single post pages, you can use the following widget visibility rule:
