After upgrading to the latest version, I noticed that my Metaslider plugin stopped working. I only get the first slider and the controls are missing.

I got Metaslider to work again by disabling these options but the site speed is now slower:

    Move scripts to the footer
    Defer parsing of javascript files

How can I get it to work again?

I read this thread earlier, but I’m not versed in any programming so I’m not sure what to do….

    Hi,

After upgrading to the latest version, I noticed that my Metaslider plugin stopped working. I only get the first slider and the controls are missing.

What version where you running before you upgraded the plugin?

If you enable the following feature Move scripts to the footer, you will need to find out which scripts from your Metaslider need to be excluded. These scripts are added under Advanced settings tab in the plugin. I think this is what’s causing the issue in your site. I am not sure if this will improve your speed or not. But there is no harm in trying though.

    Thank you

@michael20136 – if you’ve turned OFF the option of ‘move scripts to footer’, please go into advanced tab and locate the script handle / script path table (it’s included in the “Exlude scripts from footer” metabox.

Please paste a screenshot of the contents of this table here so that we may help you 🙂

    Thannks,
    Cristian.

I couldn’t find a way to paste the screenshot so you can download it here:

Move scripts to footer and defer parsing of javascript were on and are now off.

    Thanks!

I must have been 3.61 or 3.7. I update all plugins regularly.

Oh yeah, I am using it with the Divi theme.

@michael20136 – right now, there’s no way to make SBP work with Divi, since Divi bundles so much un-needed functionality it’s almost impossible to create a catch-all scenario for Divi.

Keeping ‘move scripts to footer’ & ‘defer parsing of javascript’ off is the best you’ll be able to achieve with SPB & Divi, unfortunately.

We’re looking for ways to improve SPB + Divi, but right now, SPB’s feature set isn’t up to par with Divi’s complex way of managing it’s assets, which is not done in a WordPress standard (compliant) way.

Thanks for giving SPB a try and for reporting the errors in this thread. It’ll help me update SPB and fix outstanding issues as well as add new features.

    Thanks,
    Cristian.

I had it working for many months with both SPB and Divi without any problems. Would it help to rollback to a previous version of SPB?

I re-installed 3.6.1 and it works with all my previous settings. Any plans to find out what didn’t work with Divi in 3.7.1 and fix it?

    Michael

    @michael20136 – yep, of course 🙂

Could you please tell me the exact settings you’re using in SBP v3.6.1 that work for you with Divi?

    Thanks,
    Cristian.

The only things I have selected are:

    Move scripts to the footer

    Load JS from Google Libraries

    Defer parsing of javascript files

@michael20136 – thank you for this, I’ll look into releasing an update today to address this issue.

    Cristian.

@machothemes – will have to push it to “this week” instead of today. But, it will get addressed once I get some free time.

    Cristian.
