While pursuing another problem with using PDFs, see link below, I noticed another killer problem. It leaks memory like crazy. At least I have observed this under XP and IE8 – but it may not be restricted to them.
For XP, as noted in the other link, you may need an older version (9) of Acrobat to get it to work when popping up the same PDF. But if you (successfully) repeatedly popup PDFs and then close them, you will observe your memory usage climbing rapidly. Before too long, you exceed physical memory and it really starts to grind.
Is there a way to avoid this? Any input (on either problem), greatly appreciated
