    Sure, check Users in Settings / Geo Mashup / Overall / Collect Location For. You can then save location when editing users, and map them with a shortcode like

    [geo_mashup_map object_name=”user”]

    Hi,
    I realized that I have to populate the user location in the user profile in order for results to be displayed. Instead of entering this repeat information can I point to another custom meta fields that contains city, state?

    You can enter the name of a meta field in the “Geocode Custom Field” setting, and that will be geocoded for new values. For existing values you need a way to bulk geocode them. Geo Mashup doesn’t yet provide a service to do that.
