If I understand you right, you’re talking about after you’ve clicked Directions and have opened a window in Google Maps? I’m not positive what is happening, but I suspect it is related to your ISP and not a WordPress Plugin issue. Let me explain.
For me — and my situation is unique — I get my Internet through cellular (no cable modem) because I live full-time in an RV and travel around. Browsers use different algorithms for calculating a user’s location that can involve end points, other nearby WiFi networks, etc. Perhaps in your part of the world something strange is happening with this process.
You might try switching to Firefox as a browser. Sometimes this has given me better location results.
If I’m misunderstanding your issue, let’s move the conversation to our dev site so you can share some screen caps.
Is this not connected to allowing or disallowing location services?
@osnicky59 I suppose potentially that could be, but in my experience, that wouldn’t result in any directions at all vice from the incorrect location.
Have tried using a different browser and it’s still showing up as directions from Mangamutu. It’s strange as is showing the same start place on other’s computers who are viewing from different parts of the country.
Please come over to the dev site and provide a screen caps as part of an issue.
In particular, make sure you show the status bar and see if we can look at the link being passed to Google. You might also look at the Javascript Console to see if any errors show up.
