• Hello – I am working on setting up a subdomain, elearning.triadgoodwill.org with LearnDash and the Uncanny tools. For some reason, when I click on the login & logout button, it takes me to the login page, but doesn’t go anywhere after that. I am assuming I am missing some shortcode somewhere. What I want is for the page to only show Login & register if someone is not logged in. I also want them to be able to logout when they are done for the day.

So right now, the login page will ask you to login (button doesn’t go anywhere) or register (this seems to be working appropriately).

The code on my Login/Logout Page:
    [uo_login_ui]
    [uo_register]

Is there another page I need to create for logging in? Or did I just miss something? If I log out now, I can’t log in as an admin either, unless I deactivate the Uncanny Owl Plugin. Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

The Front End Login module isn’t set up to take you anywhere after login. You’ll need to set up a login redirect to tell the system where you want users to go. It could be our Login Redirect module, it could be Peter’s Login Redirect or something else completely.

Re the user not being able to log in, there are several other support threads with similar issues. Make sure the login page isn’t cached, make sure you selected the login page in the module settings for the Toolkit, etc.

As for the page not being visible to logged in users, there are lots of ways to do that. If access to the page is controlled by menu item, there’s our Menu Item Visibility module to help. Workflow tends to be quite personal to the site, so our plugins just provide the tools to make it easier to achieve what you want–but there isn’t necessarily a fixed what to get there.

Okay. So I am still confused. I have the front end module set up to go to the Login & Logout Page. I have the login/logout redirects set to go to http://www.elearning.triadgoodwill.org/user-profile after they log in. So I am not entirely sure why it isn’t working.

It’s too difficult to assess without seeing the site. Hopefully you’re working with a developer that can take a look. If login redirects aren’t working and you use our module, it could be a conflict or priority issue; try an alternative like Peter’s Login Redirect. Also, your original note mentioned the site with no www, your last link has www. Those MUST be the same, so if there’s any inconsistency (like you trying to redirect to a www page when login is from non-www), it will definitely break the behaviour.
