    Hi,

    I tried to login in on the site kit, after following all access it just back to the same sign-in page.

    and I’d tried to reset it and other ways that i found on the site, unfortunately, it still doesn’t work…

    – I had been able to set up site kit previously.
    – I only have this website.
    – I check the inspect found that I got an error as :

    Unchecked runtime.lastError: The message port closed before a response was received.

  • @zuppachu thanks for your topic. Some questions:

    1) Did you recently make changes to your site, particularly the URL structure?

    2) Could you try a complete reset and reinstall in an incognito browser and let me know if you are able to connect?

    — Reset Site Kit from the link on the “Sign in with Google” page
    — Delete and reinstall Site Kit
    — Attempt the setup process

    2. I did all the steps as you asked but the result just like before… turn back to the sign-in page agian πŸ™

    PS. and I’ve updated the site kit version.

    @zuppachu appreciate the follow up! Do you have any caching or security plugins installed or measures at your host enabled?

    You can also provide your Site Health Information so we can check for potential conflicts.

    I don’t think so. I’ve tried to stop other plugins and done all the processes that you’d suggested before (i did it all on the incognito window), unfortunately, the result was as before… it went back again the sign-in page πŸ™

    @zuppachu Thanks for the update. Can you inform me if the same issue arises when using an alternate theme, such as a default WordPress theme (ie. Twenty Twenty)? If you can temporary switch themes while testing that may be of use.

    When checking please use a Chrome browser incognito window as before.

    @zuppachu thanks for the reply and I’m sorry you’re still experiencing the issue. From recent reports, I’m wondering if your site is affected by this issue. It is a priority fix that we’re planning for the next release.

    I know previously you mentioned that changes were not made to the URL, however I’m curious if the Site Kit service has registered your site with another version and is preventing you from setting up now.

    — Was the site connected to Search Console before or after Site Kit?

    — Could you tell me the full URL(s) that is present in Search Console now?

    @zuppachu we released version 1.5.0 with the fix mentioned above. Could you do the following:

    1) Update the plugin to the latest version 1.5.0
    2) Reset Site Kit
    3) Proceed with the setup process

    Let us know if you are successfully connected.

    If you continue to experience an issue, please provide your Site Health info anew (we’ve added a new section for Site Kit specifically that will help us troubleshoot further).
