link a pdf to an ad

Hello,

I have an ad placed on our sidebar and I want o be able click it and have people download a pdf form.

How do I do this?

I have uploaded the pdf form to “media library” and inserted the url address of the form into the code where I usually insert the web address link. This does not work. I have also tried the pdf attachment page link the same way and that does not work.

Any advice?
