    Hello,

I’m trying to use Player Metrics to set “Squad Numbers” since I need them for different leagues we run (men’s, women’s, co-ed) since one player could belong to two teams with different numbers.

Previously when each player had a global Squad Number entered, and I was viewing a player profile page, the drop-down in the top-right would limit the selections to only those on the same team.

As soon as I remove the Squad Number (so I can display it from Metrics instead), it’s now displaying ALL players in the drop-down, which is a bit of a privacy issue.

Is there a way to limit that list to only players that are on the same team(s) or league(s) as the logged-in user? I don’t need men’s players seeing all names from the women’s league, and vice versa.

I haven’t made these pages public as of yet until I can sort out these issues, which is why the site is not linked to view it.

    Hi @jessekpsc ,

I tried to reproduce this behaviour, but with no success. Even after removing the Squad Numbers from players, the drop-down list was correctly filtered based the Current Team of the Player.

Please try to disable ALL plugins except SportsPress and switch to a default theme like Rookie or TwentySeventeen and check again.

    Thanks,
    Savvas

    I have just done this.

    The only plugins activated are:
    Sportspress Pro
    SportsPress for Football (Soccer)

I have only been using the Rookie theme.

I am logged in as a “Player” role and it still shows ALL players that I have added so far in the drop-down still.

Is there a way to attach pictures here or shall I just upload and link them?

FYI – for now, I’ve just gone under “Player” tab in Settings and disabled dropdown altogether until I can figure out why it’s not limiting the list.

Also – maybe it’s because I unchecked Squad Number under those same settings, so it’s not even taking it into account at all? However, anyone with a Squad Number still entered (because I haven’t cleared them all yet) are still showing with that number in the dropdown as well.

    Ok thank you,

I seem to have found the issue:

For those that have the same issue, simply assigning a Division, League, Season, Team is not enough, you have to select each team in each season under “Statistics” on the player’s page in order for it to limit the results, or else it will just display everyone like I have found out.

I’m still in the process of importing hundreds of players and hadn’t gone to every specific player page to set their statistics yet, which is why I came across this issue.

Unfortunately this relies on everyone being on a “Current Team”, simply assigning them a Past team and selecting that under statistics still opens up the drop-down to the whole list of registered users, which is inherently a privacy issue, so I will be disabling the drop-down list altogether on our page due to this reason.

    Thanks,
    Jesse
