Hi @tombcm. Thanks for the feedback. We’ve actually had a couple of other users reach out to us to mention this as well. There are a few things to note about the tab:
- The tab should not have been displayed to users of Uncanny Automator Lite (free version). That was a mistake, and is now fixed.
- I don’t know whether you are on the Lite or Pro version, but if you’re on Pro, you can turn off the tab at Automator > Settings > Uncanny Agent > Uncanny Agent launcher tab [Enabled/Disabled].
- The tab is simply a static link that opens the Uncanny Agent window; Uncanny Agent does not actually load on your site until you open the window AND send a message.
When deciding how to surface Uncanny Agent, we made a choice to put a link in a more prominent location than in the admin top bar (as most plugins do). One of the things we quickly learned with the tab in such a non-standard location is that some users are, understandably, concerned that the tab is loading Uncanny Agent on every page. So we are updating our messaging and making adjustments to how Uncanny Agent is launched to address this.
