    Hi,

I’m using WP-Rocket. It works well and I have a paid subscription and don’t want to change. I’ve found, however, that I need to exclude a couple of files from my theme (Blocksy) from the Deferred Javascript Option.

The Jetpack Like Button is also having issues – I think I need to defer a Javascript file for it, but I can’t figure out which file. Can you please let me know what file?

    Thanks,
    Graham

    Hi @fyfeopedia

It looks like you’l need to add an exception in the WP Rocket plugin settings. We can’t say exactly what setting you will need to tweak in WP Rocket. Maybe WP Rocket support can help you with this.

We’d recommend excluding the following scripts:

    wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/build/postmessage.min.js
    wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/build/jquery.jetpack-resize.min.js
    wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/build/likes/queuehandler.min.js

Here’s how you can exclude them in WP Rocket: https://docs.wp-rocket.me/article/976-exclude-files-from-defer-js

WP Rocket also has a tutorial on how to find the right JavaScript to exclude: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPrIwaTrq-4

Lastly, if you have any confusion on how to exclude script, you should contact WP Rocket support.

    Thanks Bruce for your help.

I had to go back to Rocket support to figure it out eventually.

For future reference, if anyone has the same issue it was caused by the “Enable for iframes and videos” option on the Media tab in WP-Rocket.

They fixed it by excluding the widgets.wp.com iframes.
