Lightbox gallery large white space below

    There is a large white space below “Lightbox Gallery”. When the page loads, the images are transiently in one column down the page then they are put side by side, 2 on a row. Its as though the vertical space for the one column with one image per row then sets the vertical height of the page. when the gallery changes to two images per row, the vertical height remains.
    This only happens with this the Lightbox Gallery view, other view settings for the image gallery are OK, but its this view I want.
    Checked in Google Chrome Inspector, the height of the page column gets set, looks like this is in the theme. A Themler generated theme, which uses Bootstrap framework.
    Just found this plugin, and trying out the free version which does what I need, apart from this issue. I would consider purchasing a pro licence, if this is resolved first.
    Is there a fix or workround please?

    Thanks for logging into my site and editing in a fix. The problem is solved for this one website only.
