There’s no maximum size, but the size of your page is putting a strain on something. I’m not sure if it’s my browser or your server/host, but it’s really, really slow. I think you need to redesign your home page; maybe just show the first 5 kites and a link to others, or break things into categories or something like that.
I don’t think this is a WordPress problem.
Thank you Steve for your fast reply.
Well, something beyond my control has changed since I last worked with the site in September. Like I said the page has been working well since May 2020, and in Septemer this year I was playing with a new forum (that is not published yet) and at that time the page in question worked well; the page was loading well and the popups worked. When I first noticed that the popups didn’t work some ten days ago I put it up to my slow connection. But then the support on Popup Anything said that the page was loading too slow and that was the cause of the popups not working.
In my opinion something must have changed that’s slowing down the loading of the page: either in the theme Flexia, in WordPress (which both have been updated to the latest versions) or in the host server. How to find out?
Of course I can start splitting up the page but it is so frustrating when something that has bee working well for 18 months suddenly stops working, I think you would agree on that.
I suddenly realize that it can also be a Tablepress related problem, since I have also updated that plugin recently. Should I open a new topic directed to Tablepress?
Have a nice weekend!

Let’s be a bit more methodical.
This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.
If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site. You can then use its admin bar menu to turn on/off plugins and themes one at a time.
Hello Steve,
The “Health Check” suggestion was good. It showed that the problem still occurs when using theme Twentytwenty and only plugins Tablepress and PopupAnything (both necessary for the page) are activated. I checked the configuration page for popups and found that quite a lot of parameters have been added since I configured my popups. So it seems the slow loading is caused by some congestions at loading from the additional code per popup when multiplied by “many”. I have made a workaround, as you suggested in your first reply, by splitting up the page so that there is now a maximum of 22 popups per page, and now the pages load fine. It’s not ideal but ok.
I was wrong in thinking it was updates of WordPress or theme Flexia that caused the problem: it was Popup Anything.
Thanks for your guidance!
