• I have a problem with Jetpack updates. I have a multisite network with about 300 blogs, some of these have their own admins and some are corporate sites. Now I do use Jetpack for stats and other features but my problem is every time I update the plugin, it logs me out of all the sites and I have to manually login in again and connect the sites and the other blog owners have to do the same now for an individual blog this is not as tedious as going through 200 plus blogs to reactivate Jetpack. I have decided just not to update Jetpack for the last few months but there has to be another solution right??

Could you let me know how you update Jetpack and the other plugins in your network? DO you use WordPress’ built-in updater? Do you copy the new files over via SFTP?

I normally use the WordPress updater.

It could be that the WordPress updater fails to copy the new files over when updating the plugin, thus causing the update to fail.

Next time an update becomes available, could you try to update manually, via SFTP, and let me know how it goes?

Hey maybe I didn’t explain myself clearly. My problem is not a failed update, the update works just fine. My problem is that every time I update it severs the connection between my blogs and the jetpack servers which means I have to connect jetpack to my 200 blogs manually and individually which really sucks. Is there a way to update and leave the connection intact??

That’s actually the default behaviour. Plugin updates don’t touch the connection. That’s what makes me think your problem might be caused by an incomplete update.

Could you try updating manually when Jetpack 4.0.4 becomes available, and let me know how it went?

    Thanks!
