I am very new to wordpress. I have a hosting site of godaddy.com
When I install jetpack I activate it and then it wants me to connect to wordpress.com. When I do this I receive this message

Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible

Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [IXR -32300: transport error: http_request_failed Operation timed out after 15150 milliseconds with 0 out of -1 bytes received]
Godaddy.com says they can’t help – I have not other plug ins except akismet and welcome to wordpress. I have tried deactivating all plug ins – go daddy says that I need to have jetpack 2.3.1 as my hosting plan is using PHP 5.3. I have not been able to find this version
I am lost – any help would be appreciated in fixing this problem.
