Do you have caching on your site or server? A bit more info would be helpful as well – theme, URL?
Have you tried deactivating your plugins to see if any are causing this?
This is tried on clean installs with twenty fourteen and tested with other themes, no plugins
Could possibly be fixed now, I haven’t tested since this last update
I have tested on fresh install. I am also having other issues as well, possibly related to multisite?

Can you test on a new SINGLE install of WP?
This sounds like a cache issue though. Do you have any server side caching like Memcached?
Wow, one of my themes (classifiedtheme by sitemile.com) the feature image section is completely gone on 4.1 from 4.0.1
No big deal bc it doesn’t really show a picture on that page.
Other than that I don’t see any other of the before said errors on the new install at least.
When I get my version of my site downloaded soon I will try to do the update and see if this is still reoccurring and will update you with that in 1-2 weeks

noticed too some of my threads were moved bc of multisite questions, so wasnt meant to be overposted like that!
Also the featured image beside my Posts was removed in that theme…I wrote to the theme author to let them know also…maybe thats where it is, but they are real slow to it

Multisite actually. I have a few single installs that never did this.
The posts and pages are missing featured picture from that theme, I let them know as well
Let’s roll back to the subject of this post.
Featured images changes aren’t being saved in posts.
Is this still the case?
In new install, no. I still am waiting to upgrade to find out if it fixes it just waiting to find out everything i need to or get less busy first
Actually did a new install and am still having this issue. What I am doing is writing new pages to the WP install
The new page at the top has an image tag in HTML to show top image and once saved, it takes this image and shows as the featured image.
Also once saved, I can seem to do nothing to change it. It doesn’t display but in my backend but it is still showing on brand new WP multisite install
