Issue with avatars

    When viewing a ticket page from the front-end, the avatars don’t work as expected. (So far I have tried Basic User Avatars and Simple Local Avatars to upload the avatars, both of which seem to enable uploads perfectly, and which work in other contexts.)

    On localhost, I can’t get avatars to show either for the person who originally submitted the ticket, or for anyone who responds.

    On my live test site, the avatar shows for the responder, but not the original submitter.

    Any ideas? The difference between live and localhost behavior seems particularly odd.

    Hi KTS915.

    The avatar images are generated by using Gravatar.

    Do the images not show at all? (A broken state) or does the “Mystery Man” image show?

    Well, the avatar images should be generated by whatever plugin I choose to use to override the default Gravatar system. And this works, as I say, for the replies on my live site. (It also works for other functions created by other plugins.)

    On my localhost and for original submitters on the live site, the “Mystery Man” shows.

    Hmm, interesting. I have just gone back into my live test site, and now nothing is showing as an avatar for the original submitter (not even the Mystery Man). The correct avatar continues to be displayed for the responses.

    I understand what you mean.

    Would you mind deactivating the plugin you are using to override the Gravatar images and let me know if the images display?

    What plugin are you using to do this?

    I was using Basic User Avatars (and also tried Simple Local Avatars).

    I have now switched it off, and I now see the Mystery Man for replies, but no avatar at all for the original submitter.
