• Hi Jeff! I migrated a client’s site to a new host and didn’t realize that my SMTP plugin (Gravity SMTP) was still pointing to a server we no longer used. This scenario produced a potential bug.

The site timed out every time I tried to log in. The login screen would continue loading until the server gave up. Deactivating Simple Login Notification fixed the issue, so I’m assuming the process doesn’t move forward until that email is sent.

I know it’s kind of a niche issue. But I wanted to share it in case there was an easy way to kill the email in this scenario.

Hi Eric, glad to help 🙂

Are you able to check the site error log? When the event (time out or whatever) occurs there should be a record of it in the error log, including a description of the error. That would be the most useful bit of information if possible to get.

Other than that, you might try adding your server/site IP address(es) to the “Exclude IPs” setting. That *should* do the trick depending on how things are configured on the server and so forth.
