@ligonier816 thanks for reaching out!
A few questions to help us troubleshoot further:
1) When you migrated the site from staging to live, was the site in staging actively connected to Site Kit at the time?
2) Could you send us your Site Health information through this form?
1. Yes, the staging site was connected to Site Kit before migrating.
2. Site Health Information has been submitted.
When I go to the Site Kit Dashboard on the live site, I see the option to sign in and this text above the sign-in button:
“Site Kit has already been configured by another admin of this site. To use Site Kit as well, sign in with your Google account which has access to Google services for this site (e.g. Google Analytics). Once you complete the 3 setup steps, you’ll see stats from all activated Google products.”
However, there are no other admins on the live site. When I click the sign in button, I can connect with my google account but at the last screen it redirects me to the staging site (which no longer exists), not the live site.
@ligonier816 thanks for the additional details!
We’ll need to confer with the team to assist further. However, could you confirm if your WordPress dashboard is located at https://headspace.media/wp-admin or another location?
Ok. Yes, the dashboard is located there.
@ligonier816 thanks for the confirmation.
Could you try this workaround that may help update the Site Kit service? Let us know if you are able to proceed without the error:
– In your WordPress site settings (under Settings > General), change the values for the WordPress Address and Site Address to http:// from https://
– You may be prompted to log back into WordPress. Log back in and then change the values back to https:// from http://
– Attempt the Site Kit setup again
@ligonier816 we’re looking at a solution, but could not spot the record for the previous URL on the service.
Could you confirm the full URL including protocol for matthewf29.sg-host.com ?
Also, were you using your host’s provided staging mechanism or did you stage and migrate to live some other way (manually, with another plugin)?
I changed the site address then changed it back and there was no change.
The previous URL was http://matthewf29.sg-host.com
I did not use a staging mechanism. I cloned a live site to another live site using ManageWP.com
@ligonier816 just providing a follow up that we’re still looking into the particular issue on your site.
We’re also working on a way to prevent this issue in the plugin (Github issue).
Thanks for your patience and we’ll follow up as soon as we have more information.
@ligonier816 we’ve made some adjustments. Could you try the setup process once more and let us know if you are able to proceed?
I just deactivated and deleted the plugin. Then I logged into my WordPress dashboard for Headspace.media in a chrome incognito window. There I installed the plugin and started the setup process.
The setup process worked properly. I was not redirected to the old site. Thank you for you help resolving this issue.
Matt
@ligonier816 thanks for the update and I’m glad you were able to complete the process!
If you have a chance, feel free to leave a review about your experience with Site Kit.
