  • Hi there. i installed the plugin and built a back up, which seemed fine. it gave me a link.

I copied the link. Installed wp clone on the new location and pasted the link but when i tried to restore i got a server error.

It couldnt download the zip file from the first site.

sounds like the backup failed, what does it show as the size of the backup?

    Hi,
I had the same issue, Can you help me?
The size of mine was 18.9MB.
I thought maybe the backup failed as well, so I deleted the back up, logged out of WP account. Re-logged back in did a new back up URL file – copy and pasted that one and the same error occurred.

Hoping you can help me work this out so I can restore this URL backup to a new WP location.

    Thanks in advanced 🙂 Jema

did you try the manual upload method described here? also described here (last post)

Hey i just tried to do the download of the ZIP file and upload through my FTP, but i tried the download 3 times after refreshing the window and deleting old back ups ect and it just keeps coming up with this: The requested URL was not found on this serve.
Therefore the file didn’t download properly so I can’t upload to FTP.

Any help you can offer would be great. Thanks again, thus far you’ve been great 🙂

if you ftp into your main site, can you see any backup files in ‘wp-content/uploads/wp-clone’?

    thanks that worked a GEM!!!
any quick easy way to move images from one to the other so image URL’s still work? or is that something you need to upload regardless..

    THANK YOU
