Hi, yes it is intentional to disable changing of shortcode name.
This is to make the user understand that once renamed the shortcodes with old name won’t work.
To create one with new name, you have to copy paste the code into a new one.
Thanks,

Because 1% of the users can’t understand a sentence english, you decide to make the experience worse for 100% of your users?
Your thought process: “Here, let me make this unnecessarily complicated and wasteful for 100% of my users because 3 people complained once”.
Why don’t you put a warning that old codes won’t work and allow us to edit?
Sorry for the delay. I understand your concern. I’ll consider any other downsides to this and revert back the changes.

Please use v4.3 to edit shortcode name after creation.
