How to edit info window?

I’ll fully admit that I’m new to WordPress. I have some experience with Joomla, but that was years ago.

I’m not sure I understand how to customize the info window on the global map.

I have a few issues that I’m trying to resolve, which I’m assuming is coming down to customization based upon what I’m wanting.

1) When I access the page with the global map, it doesn’t open up centered around the area where my posts are tagged. It shows as a grey page and I have to drag the map around in order to find my posts.

2) I don’t like the way the info window opens up on the pins. It has scroll bars and it’s very clunky. I’d like to customize how much of each post is shown, how big the image is that’s shown in this window, etc.

I have copied the files mentioned in this post to the root folder of my template (as well as the one file to the css folder, as suggested).

I’m not sure which version to edit? The one in my template root directory? I’m not sure what to edit. When I’ve opened up geo-mashup-info-window-max.php I’m not sure I’m seeing anything that indicates customization like I’m looking for.
