How Does LOGIN/LOGOUT Work in PMPro?

Hello,
How does the PMPro plugin manage login and logout?
I would like to have a LOGIN (when not logged in) / LOGOUT (when logged in) item appear in the main Nav menu of the site but I can’t figure out how to do it.
Any help/insight would be appreciated!
