    My Site: http://www.dmgdrilling.com

On my web site I have mostly pages and very few blog posts.
If the page is about coffee cups then I’m placing the coffee cups title and coffee cups subtitle in the same area where all the content is written (the visual composer area) but I’m not using the Heading, Subheading on the Page Options section, these two are always empty.

Please advise if this is BAD practice and if I should be utilizing the Heading, Subheading on the Page Options.

Additionally, when I do a Nibble Test it shows that I have NO Meta tags!
    Are these two related?

Those the Human them uses the Heading, Subheading on the page options to create the Meta tags?

  • Hi VGonzaloMartinez. The page Heading and Subheading, if they are used, will replace the page name in the Page Title section just above the content area. Is leaving those blank a “bad practice”? I’m assuming you’re asking that from an SEO perspective. The page title is displayed in an <h2> tag. Perhaps having more descriptive information there would result in better SEO; I don’t know the answer to that. The page Heading and Subheading are not related to meta tags. The theme only creates default charset and viewport meta tags. There are numerous plugins available for installing meta tags and/or other SEO options. You might also check this Codex page for information on why WordPress doesn’t include meta tags and whether they are needed.

Hi, thank you for the valuable information.
Correct, I ask all of this specifically because SEO.
There are a few reasons I’m concerned about not having the proper “description meta tags”
    – In one of the Google services Webmaster or analytics they suggest the page need it.
    – In Nibble Test suggest we need it.
    – An SEO expert also recommended it.

Is there a non intrusive plugin or a Jetpack plugin that will create the “description meta tags” and that will not make the page heavy and slow to load?
Do you have a prefer one to recommend?

Not sure how you define “non-intrusive”, “heavy” and “slow”. Those are fairly generic terms that might have many interpretations. There are many SEO plugins available. For the sites I work on, SEO isn’t a high priority so I haven’t done much experimenting or comparison. The only one I’ve actually used is All in One SEO Pack. Whether that’s the best solution for your application is probably something only you can answer.
