Hi @decolien,
As checked, seems likely you’re enabling a multi-languae feature to your site. Your pages look fine, except the homepage. How did you enable the multi-language feature? Perhaps it requires a special setting for the homepage?
For troubleshooting purpose, can you try creating a new blank page, publish it, and use it as homepage (go to Settings > Reading), and run your test?
Before testing, you may require clearing cache and restarting web browser first.

Hi Kharis
Thanks for the reply. Throughout the day my homepage was indeed not working, but now it is back to normal. No idea how it happened.
The translator is the GTranslate plugin. I cannot find anything in the setting that could be related to this.
I have changed the homepage to the test page, but again the problem occurs.
I have also deleted my cache.
Any ideas on what I can do?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards
Elien Kaes
I checked your homepage again. Seems likely you’re getting script conflict issue with Jetpack’s lazy load.
I’d recommend disabling it. And check whether your main hero image on homepage loads fine or not.

Hi Kharis
Thanks for the reply.
I have deactivated Jetpack and the translator, but the images are still not loading….

Hi Elien,
Do you have other plugin being used to optimize image performance? If so, try disabling it, and re-insert the image to the respective block, save, and reload your page.
If still, the image doesn’t appear, you may want to run your test with basic WordPress installation (without any plugins) privately — only visible to you while logged in as administrator. This process is called troubleshooting mode. You can enable it with Health Check plugin.
Hope that helps.
I solved it in another way, but thanks for the help!
