GTM4WP at the same time with manual code?

    Hi,

    I would like to use GTM4WP plugin to use GA4 ecommerce capabilities. The thing is: I already have the GTM code installed manually. Is there any problem if I install the GTM4WP plugin in that case?

    Hi,

    It could happen that your manually added GTM container code executes before the first dataLayer push of GTM4WP therefore tags firing on “All pages” will not see data in the data layer yet. This could include ecommerce data.

    As long as there is no special need for it, I would recommend to let GTM4WP to place the container code. Under the Advanced tab, there is an option to load the container code as early as possible which will move the code the head section to the top.
