@dariuskri I noticed you are using Altervista, can you inform me whether you added any Analytics tracking using their platform before connecting Site Kit?

We will also checkout the same setup from our side using the service.

@dariuskri Just following up with you on this issue. The tracking code you referenced is the Altervista tracking code. I’ve been able to successfully connect to the same service when using Site Kit with my own Analytics testing account.

Can you inform me whether you’ve made any changes to the default Altervista settings, such as activating the service cache before Site Kit setup?

@jamesosborne If I am not mistaken I have not activated a cache gap. A few weeks ago I tried to connect my site to google Analytics but through the Altervista platform and it always gave me this error.
For me it is new and maybe I will have messed up something. I tried to change email but nothing changes.
If I try to view the origin of the page I find the ID UA-1240215-4. What is the correct one?
I would like the association that I carry out as an interview with the SIte Kit plugin to be successful.

@jamesosborne I’ll explain. The association is not successful through the Site Kit plugin run on Altervista. In fact, if I run the association from the Google profile, the ID it finds is different. How can I make the Site ID plugin find the correct ID code?

@dariuskri The additional tracking code (UA-1240215-4) is used by Altervista, I can see the same from testing, although I’m able to proceed with setup. I’ll discuss it with the team and see if there is anything we can do from our side.

Can you try to manually place your own tracking code into your theme or using another plugin while I check with the team?

@jamesosborne Unfortunately it is the first time that I manage a blog and I don’t know how to insert it manually.
What other plugin could I use? If I’m not mistaken, Site Kit is the official Google plugin.

Furthermore, if I access the Google Analytics account via the email that I associated with my blog, it is not possible for me to cancel one of the “tests” that I carried out. Any proof of association he did gave me a different ID. Also the last test I did I can’t delete it as it gives me an error message.
Could you also need the email address?

I hope you can solve it.

@dariuskri Just to keep you updated I’m unable to recreate another account using Altervista, although from my existing account I’ve been unable to reproduce the same issue.

As I’ve already attempted contacting their support without success (in order to test another setup) can you submit a supporting ticket on their services in relation to their place Analytics snippet, which is impacting your setup?

@jamesosborne I will try to contact the Altervista support page. If in the meantime he manages to find a solution I would be grateful to him. Unfortunately, I have been managing the blog for a short time and I am still not very familiar with solving some problems.

@dariuskri Just to inform you that we’ve tested Altervista setup using another account although we’ve been unable to reproduce the same issue. It seems like a setup issue specific to your case.

Please check with the Altervista team or with a new Altervista account and inform us if setup proceeds.

@dariuskri Marking this support topic as resolved, as it’s not something we’re able to replicate from our side when using the same service. If you raise a support topic with the hosting provider they may be able to assist.
