I have a question concerning the German translation of Event Calendar WD. It seems to me that there are several text strings, which are not translated and still appear in English.

I tested it on a local and on an online installation of WordPress and had the same problem both times. The missing translation are only on a few sites. I changed the language of my WP installation to see if it would affect the plugin. And it did indeed. The language changes on the “month”, “list”, “week” and “day” view. But on the “single” event page, on the organizer page and on the venue page, there are missing translations.

    All those translations are missing:

    event-page:
the ecwd_back_link: “View Calendar” (“Zurück zum Kalender”)
    “Phone” (“Telefon”)
    “Website” (“Webseite”)
    “Address” (“Adresse”)

    venue-page:
    “Phone” (“Telefon”)
    “Website” (“Webseite”)
the title “Upcoming events” (“Kommende Anlässe”)

    organizer-pag:
    “Phone” (“Telefon”)
    “Website” (“Webseite”)
the title “Related upcoming events” (“ähnliche / zugehörige Anlässe”)

I am not too sure if this has something to do with my WordPress installations or if these translations are actually missing. I couldn’t find an easy fix in the language files either.

Is there any way to fix this?

  • Hey,

You can modify and add the missing translations using POEdit software. All translation files of the plugin/theme are located under /languages folder of its directory.

You will need to download .po and .mo files of your language from here and modify .po with POEdit. Then please upload new .po and .mo back to the same folder, replacing their old versions.

If you will not manage to do it yourself, please, ontact our support team using this form (select “I have a pre-sales question” and the form will appear).

Please, mention the URL of this forum topic in your message. We will provide a solution as soon as possible and share it here as well.

    Thanks. Have a nice day.

    Thank you for your reply.

The program that you suggested (POEdit) is really helpful.

It was a bit strange to use, because some of the strings wouldn’t show up when I opened the “ecwd-de-DE.po” file. Only after I pushed the “update” button in POEdit, I was able to finde all the lines.

Now I could translate everything I needed.
    Thanks again.
