hi guys;
I’m autoptimize’s developer. If you activate the advanced options, you’ll actually have more configuration-choices at your disposal to tailor it to your context. There’s more info in the AO FAQ on how to troubleshoot.
hope this helps,
frank
Hi Spencer,
Thanks once again.
Just a final question, may be it is a silly question. I really need to use to Autoptimize plugin since my site is very loaded with a lot of plugins, it is the a cacheing plugin recommended by the developper of the main plugin I use (WPGeodirectory) and it happens that FTS is the only plugin conflicting with it. I wonder if there will be an update for FTS fixing the problem or if I should ask Autoptimize developer to do the fix. Could you please let me kbow?
In any case, I will be glad to leave a review since your support is excellent!
I look forward to your reply.
Thanks and regards.

Hi Frank,
Sorry, I did not read your comment before posting mine.
Thanks a lot for the info!

Hi Spencer and Frank,
Unfortunately, my technical skills are almost zero. I do not know anything about Javascript. I had Autoptimize installed and configured by the tech support of WPGeodirectory and I do not dare to change anything since he told me that he configured the advanced options to suit WPGeodirectoy.
So, by now I prefer to leave the Autoptimize configuration as WPGeodirectory tech support left it and deactivate FTS.
Thanks again for your willingness to help.
Best regards.
@jotomas
I’ve taken the time to look into this and seem to have solved the problem by checking the option Add try-catch wrapping? on the Advanced Settings page.
@futtta thanks for your input and great plugin! Although checking that option solves the problem and does not seem to slow the load time I am curious to know why it’s erroring and saying Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘className’ of null. Before digging in further I figured since you have so many active installs this is not the first time this question has come up 🙂

Hi Spencer,
Unfortunately, this does not work for my site.
This setting was already left checked by WPGeodirectory support.
I guess that it may work adding something to the field “Exclude scripts from Autoptimize:”? This is its current content that I presume was left by WPGeodirectory support: s_sid,smowtion_size,sc_project,WAU_,wau_add,comment-form-quicktags,edToolbar,ch_client,seal.js,jquery.js,frontend.min.js
I look forward to your reply.
Thanks once again and best regards.

or if I should ask Autoptimize developer to do the fix
there’s nothing to fix, this is ‘just’ a configuration issue 🙂

no the first time indeed, but there’s not one fix, as it depends on what JS (of what plugins) is in the mix and what AO’s settings are, but if you put this up on a testsite somewhere I’ll be happy to have a quick look.
