• Is anyone running WordPress on FrankenPHP? I’m curious and I’ve been looking into it but haven’t played around w/ it yet. Anyone have any experiences they would like to share?

WordPress official requirements are here: https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/

However, you are free to experiment with other compatible solutions and possibly share your experience in your blog. At least frankenphp claims to be compatible at code parsing level and there are some things like FrankenWP for your experiment enjoyment.

I have tried Caddy+Frankenphp+WP in the production and I do not recommend to replace php-fpm with frankenphp. It’s because error on php will let the web server + frankenphp get down and you have to open SSH and restart the Caddy server everytime it happens.

In my case it mainly happened due to error on one of the php extension that was active in Frankenphp. Even 1 unresponsive extension may cause web server go down.

Although, Frankenphp runs in a single process and I have seen that it occupies less RAM than php-fpm multiple processes. It also depends on your configuration on www.conf (pm).

In conclusion, playing with Frankenphp+WP on local is ok but no for production sites.
